I wonder if we could wrangle ourselves onto the show so they can do all of our dirty work. And then do a sob story letter for Oprah about how it's our first house, we can't agree on decorating and can you please send Nate Berkus over for a free house makeover? Maybe tack on a honeymoon since we never took one thanks to the slightly shotgun aspect to our getting hitched.
As previously noted to my lack of readers, we're moving this summer. After debating on the merits of renting, buying or living on post, we've decided on buying a house. So far the list has been whittled down to 15 or so houses. From there we need a smaller list for Jason to look at in the next week or so when he drives down to Leavenworth. We're trying to stay around the Leavenworth/Lansing area because the traffic getting on post will be a bitch. Don't exactly want a 20 mile commute before the queue at the gate begins.
We're trying to find houses which don't require a lot of work. More because we'll only be there for 10mths before moving once again. Is this realistic? More so then one would realize considering what we've found so far. Knowing our luck, though, we'll end up on the house which needs all the wallpaper stripped. This wouldn't be bad if I'm not working. I'm perverse in rather enjoying removing wallpaper and painting. The only snafu will come from Jake in his desire for helping out. Much hilarity would ensue amongst my trying in keeping his hands out of paint, glue, etc..
Egads. A house of our very own.
