The boys will be missed

Since it's becoming more known we're leaving, several of my coworkers are putting their foot down. Apparently we're not allowed to leave the Arsenal. They don't necessarily care about Jason and I staying, it's the boys they don't want leaving.

Brendan's come a long way since the beginning of the year. He started coming to SAS shortly after I started my job here. The first day of kindergarten had him being a deer in headlights. Watching the kids come in the doors from the school bus I could see how lost Brendan was that day. He went from being the big kid at daycare to being the smallest and not knowing his way around.

Mrs. Luke keeps saying Brendan can't leave because he's gotten so comfortable in his surroundings and how much he's grown during the past year. Each day Brendan whispers into his ear who his secret identity is and not to tell mom. Both Mrs. Luke and Mr. Shame have been invited over to our house so they can play games, something which has never happened to either one of them in their years of working with kids. They both appreciate how comfortable Brendan has become with them to invite them over. Never mind the quirky sayings which tumble out of Brendan's mouth which cracks everyone up.

We've been talking with the boys on our move so they're prepared. I don't think this move will be as easy as the previous ones. Hopefully the few weeks before school starts next year they'll have adjusted to our new environment. At least Colin will have Brendan with him again once school starts so they're not all lost in new environments.
